High-temperature coatings are required to protect metal surfaces such as barbecues, cookers, non-stick cookware, engine components, boilers, vehicle exhausts and even the working parts of rockets from oxidation over an extended period. High temperature paint for metal is not designed to deliver fire retardant properties, but can be used on industrial chimneys, furnaces, commercial and domestic ovens applications. The most commonly used heat resistant paint colours include black and silver (also referred to as aluminium).

Surface Preparation
General
Surface preparation and substrate condition should be dry and free from all contaminations, dust, grese, oil, etc. surface to be sufficiently roughened prior to painting.
Surface should be checked and treated in accordance with solvent cleaning.
Blast Cleaning
Steel, blast clean to Sa 2.5 of Swedish Specification
A blasting profile of (Rz) 35 – 50 microns is recommended.
Application Conditions
Substrate temperature should be atleast 3⁰C above dew point but not above 45⁰C
Relative Humidity should be ≥85%
Good ventilation is required in confined areas to ensure proper curing.
Mixing
If settling is observed in the drum, loosen the material with the help of hand stirrer, followed by power driven stirrer if needed.
Add medium and paste and properly stir to get a homogenous mixture.
